👋 Hello World,
I am a software engineer from Chennai, India.
I started writing code in Visual Basic a little over 15 years ago. The first meaningful piece of software that I wrote was a File Splitter program. It basically allowed you to split a large file of size (say 7 MB) into multiple Floppy Disks 😄 These days I am looking to learn new things by building software on the cloud.
Apart from writing code, I love spending time with my daughter, watching football and playing chess.
I always believe that software should be free. There is visible proof that open source software powered the world’s digital transformation at a tremendous pace over the past 3 decades. The collective wisdom of open source that propels the growth of new and emerging technologies is phenomenal and I wish to be a tiny part of it.
The Pandemic has caused a great deal of imbalance to our daily lives. As Work From Home kicked in, I was looking for a Chat Aggregator to manage my multiple chats and email clients. Then I stumbled upon Ferdi and fell in love with it. Once I started using it, I wanted a few tweaks that I wanted to make and headed to the Github page. To my pleasant surprise, it was one of the warmest open source community that I have experienced. Project maintainers especially, Amine and Bennett, helped me quickly get onboard and encouraged me to make more contributions to the software.
I have also been working on other personal projects. One of them is a simple Pictionary game that allows people to play the famous game online. We are a few tasks away from a first release. If you wish to contribute, please head over to https://github.com/Room4O4/pictionary, fork the repository and start contributing!
